99 Silverado 5.3
Hi All,
Kind of an irritating item but I don't think it's a major problem.
While driving my Silverado, at any speed anywhere, the seatbelt light either comes on steady for a while or blinks for a while. I ALWAYS wear the seat belt and it's buckled before I put it in gear. I don't know if the steady or blinking seatbelt light is normal but it doesn't seem to affect anything. Maybe a small piece of electrical tape over the light is the solution. Maybe not.
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There is a fuse to the PCM that controls power to the data link connector. If you don't have power and ground in your connector, your scanner will not communicate. You need to scan for an error code. The code will lead you right to the component or connector that there is an issue with.
