Default AC compressor cycles on and off 1987 even after charging

AC Compressor cycles on and off on 1987 c-10 I just bought. Charged with UV but no visible leaks and still cycling on and off. Next step?

Sorry to be dense, but isn't it supposed to cycle? Is it doing it at an incorrect rate?
BTW welcome! You will find a lot smarter folks here than me!

Some A/C units cycle and some dont. All that really matters is that the cool air temp at the outlets is between 38 and 45 degrees F or so when driving.

if the compressor short cycles, on and off every 15 seconds...the system probably has a low charge. have the system recovered and if the recovered amount it low...it either wasn't filled to the proper level or you have a leak.
