Air Vent Control/Headlights Issue
This is a multiple problem issue. I just purchased a 1998 K1500 Silverado .
1) I have no A/C. The compressor doesn't kick in when I push the button. Could be a low coolant issue.
2) Just discovered this when I started taking a look at my cooling/heating problem. I found this out by accident when I was looking at vehicle controls overall. The air blows out of the dash vents only when the headlights are turned on (really weird). If I turn the headlights off, then the air goes to different vents.
3) I only get heat, no matter where the dial is at.
Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. I was trying to find anything on this but can't even begin to figure out how to search for it.
**UPDATE**
OK, after further diags, it seems that hot air comes out of the dash vents if I turn my dash lights up/on. Otherwise, I can control the air vents and hot/cold. I'm sure that my A/C has a problem (i.e. low coolant, etc) but I figure that I need to get this vent issue resolved first.
Thanks anyone.
