Default Battery Trouble

Hi there new to the forums. I have a 2002 Chev silverado 1500 4x4. It has been sitting for 5-6 months now and the temp here is pretty cold as I'm in Alberta Canada. My question is after sitting that long I had to jump is and it started up fine, ran fine but when I go to shut it off, and start it again it has no battery power and it's almost completly dead. I'm not sure what would cause this problem. Maybe the battery connections are bad or even the whole battery is toast. Any help would be great thanks all.

Default batt

The first thing to do is to fully charge the battery with a slow charger. Cold batterys dont charge easily and the batt may not have enough current to fully excite your alt.

Check with the battery weather it is getting charged or not. if still the same i would suggest you change the battery.

Just replace the batter dude your froze the cells up and damaged the plates so it wont hold a charge each cell in a battery should hold 2.1 volts and when you damge the cell wall it doesnt hold that charge any more the reason your truck runs after jumping it is the alternators suppling all the power your system needs
