blurtooth bmd and obd 2 scanner
Hi everyone,
This is only my second post so I am very green on the forum so please understand f I am not posting in the right area.
I am looking to buy a Bluetooth Obd 2 scanner to use with both my laptop and android smart phone. I have a few questions that I would like your input on.
1) Are scanners all about the same?
I have read that ELM327 scanner that use version 1.4b or 1.5 chip are all Chine Clones. But I have not found any one using the version 2.0 chip which is made by the ELM Company.
2) Software: I would like to get an app the will read both OBD 2 codes (ie P codes) and the BMD codes. I read somewhere in this forum that someone found an app (not Torque) that would read both types of codes.
3) It would be nice: I would also be great if there was software and/or app that one could sure to do at least basic turning of the eprom.
I would like to read all your input on the subject. Thanks in advance.
