Brake Pulsation after New Rims/Wheels installed
2007 Silverado 1500 Classic Body Style. Have owned it for 3 years now, 77k miles on it currently. Up to yesterday no problems with the brakes, braking, vibrating, etc...none. About a month ago, I put on ADO rotors on the front with corresponding pads and again, running stock tires and rims (17 inch) with no problem at all. Smooth braking. Yesterday, I had new wheels and tires installed and I leave the store, get on the highway, have to brake to let a guy merge....and the brake pedal pulsates....I stay on it a bit because I had to for traffic and then the whole truck started to shake a bit. It most closely resembles the feel of a warped rotor, but I don't drive that truck hard at all and the rotors are only 1.5 months old. Rear brakes do need to be replaced. I know they need to be but haven't had a chance to do it yet. Why on earth is it vibrating/pulsating the brake pedal with a corresponding vehicle shake when I brake now....where right before with everything stock (wheels and tires) no issue at all. I'm so confused.

front brakes transfer to the steering wheel...rear to the brake pedal.
if it was the front brakes the steering would shimmey. I'm wondering if the problem is out of round drum or excessive rotor runnout; not sure what you have on the back for brakes.

I took it back to the rims store to get a new fresh set of eyes on it. The installer at Costco failed to remove the retainer clips on the lug studs, that are placed on the vehicle as is going through the line at the plant during production. They explained the drum is put, then the clips are put on to prevent the drum from falling off while going down the line. Factory wheels have an indentation / void on the back side allowing for those clips.... removing them yesterday allowed the back of the new wheel to truly sit tight up against the drum and hub, no more shake!!!
