So as the title states, I want to build my first sbc, which will also be my first V8, and first American engine altogether.

I come from the BMW world, and as much as I love them, I’m still a car guy, and I have no qualms about expanding my knowledge, not a fanboy!

I don’t have plans to build an engine for anything specific as of now, but I am a fan of lightweight, nimble cars, so that will be a consideration for my build. If I were to marry the engine to a car, it will be something like an MGB…. Yeah I know, kinda stupid!

I prefer high revs, I enjoy the sound of a higher revving V8, but I am no means getting my hopes up for this build.

I’d like to keep my budget below $3,000, for a subtle but hopefully achievable 3-350 horsepower, in a snappy package.

I’m looking for anyone’s opinion, good or bad, I’m okay with constructive criticism. Like I said, I’m delving into a new world and without a big head, so I’m here to listen and learn!
