Default A/C compressor will not shut off

Hi, new member here in need of help.
AC cools fine, but when I go to turn it off, the AC light goes out but it continues to run, any Ideas, or is that normal? I do nog think it is normal
2001 Chev Silverado. 5.3 L V-8

Not normal. Check the wire going to the A/C clutch to see if there is power there with the switch off. If there is then it could be a bad switch or a bad relay. If there is no voltage and it is running then the clutch is bad.
