a/c problem

a/c problem
I have a 2007 HD 3500, Duramax, etc..... When I push the button for a/c, the little snowflake flashes and then goes out. It has always stayed on until the last few days. The a/c compressor is ok, I jumped to the clutch and it engages but will not engage when I use button on dash. Any ideas ??
