Default car cover to protect your finish?

I was wondering if anyone uses a car cover on their vehicle and would like to share their good/bad experience?

I am looking to get a cover from Car Covers | Waterproof car cover | Indoor car covers | Outdoor car covers (5 layers) and was told by a sales rep that the inner cotton layer would make sure it won't scratch the finish of my car.

Is a cotton layer safe? Would like some opinions..

Thanks!

Wondering what car cover have you bought? I know as long as you cover the car on a freshly washed, that would be okay. also there is a proper way of putting it on and off. you don't need to slide the cover because that normally causes those scratches. you have to fold the cover on each end until it meets in the middle and then you would have to fold from side to side. in that way there is no dragging.
