Default cast iron powerglide

I have a cast iron powerglide build date is march of 1955. I am trying to get into contact with anyone that has some knowledge on how the hydraulic flow works. No, matter what position I shift into it is a forward gear. I have no neutral or reverse.

Hello,
I have someone i can call, but first, Did you overhaul this? Does it actually move foward in reverse or does it bind up? Was something done to the car and now it has this problem? (he may ask me these questions) Gary

I personally did not overhaul it. I know very little about the transmission. All the insides do look new. I am not sure what the shift pattern is so I don't know where reverse is. But it tries to move forward in any shift position. I don't know if it goes P R N D L or P N R D L. The main line pressure is only around 80 instead of at 140 like the manual says it should be. But my second and low shift point pressure is okay, but it always there. Not sure if this is normal either. I just put it in my dragster.

Hello,
Ok, Im assuming that it goes foward in all ranges and does not lock in reverse. The problem may be with the manual valve, either not hooked up correctly or the valve tip broke off the linkage and is stuck in one position. Gary
