I've looked all around the internet and can't seem to find a post with a problem like mine. Basically, when I start the Cavalier, I hear a rattling noise down below, from the engine. Also, I seem to be able to "feel" the noise in the brake pedal. The sound is akin to a bunch of small pebbles being shaken in a tin can.

This rattling only lasts for a moment, while the engine is starting up, then it goes away.

The only other thing I hear is, at below 30 mph or so, a very quick, faint tapping noise, but this noise I can't feel in the brake pedal.

Cavalier '98 2.2L Coupe -- Base

 

I would venture to say as I have a 99 Cavalier that does the same thing. In my research I have determined that this in the ABS system. I have yet to figure out why is does while the engine is cranked though.
