Chevrolet Service Billing codes
This may be the wrong place to be asking this question, if so, sorry for asking this question here.
I own a 2002 Silverado 1500HD and I have had the Left front axle seal replaced, by the same dealership, twice. The first time the service was 184.00 the second time it was 500.00? Same service by the same dealership? The only difference is on the bill I have a different number for what I believe to be the service billing code?
First time seal replaced:
08CVZ
19169124 seal replaced and topped off diff. ==> 184.00
Second time 40000 miles later:
03CVZ
19169124 seal replace and filled with new fluid ==> 500.00
I asked the dealership to explain and was told that is just what it is by some book of labor they use. First time labor was 148.00 second time labor was over 400.00? Does anyone know that the billing codes mean so that I know why there would be such a huge discrepancy for the same service at the same dealership.
