Default Chevy 350 engine with original 3-Speed manual Trans

Hello Chevy Friends,
I am starting to look at a new engine for my 1951 Chevy Deluxe. It ha the original 216 in it, which actually runs great if anyone is in the market, I am looking to upgrade to a Chevy 350 Crate Engine. Here's my question... I'm partial to the three on the tree and wouldn't mind keeping that around. Has anyone done this? Is it recommended? If so, is there an adapter? I have been looking everywhere for some info on this, but I can't find any thing!! As always, any information is very appreciated. Thanks in advance. The engine I am thinking of getting for the car is just the entry level circle track chevy 350.

I don't know what tranny you have, 1951 I am pretty sure saginaws were used. You will have to change the bell housing.

Thanks, but the actual Trans is strong enough so the torque won't blow it up?

What torque/hp are you expecting from the 350? If nothing hopped up, I'd say it will be. Saginaws, and 350's have been married up for decades. Besides the engine mounts, you will need a bell housing to fit the engine side, it should be a 4 bolt from the tranny to the bell houseing, and those are very common.

I believe the HP was about 260? Nothing outrageous. Thank you Kevin, you've helped me with a few things now. Appreciate it!!
