I got a 2000 chevy tracker and all of a sudden it starting make a whining/whiring noise coming from the engine area. I was guessing it was the power steering pump but upon closer inspection it sounds like its coming from the engine itself, more towards the front of the engine. Its definitely not on any of the pulleys. Do these engines have timing belts and could that be a possibility? Its just about to roll over 200,000 miles.
