Default choosing a new truck

Hello!
I currently drive a 2002 1500 Silverado.
I love my truck however it's time to start thinking about a new one.

With what I have I'm able to, for the most part, easily haul a 2 horse aluminum trailer and a 20 or so foot aluminum travel trailer with a small side on the back but it strains with staying at a constant speed on the highway. Eventually I plan on getting a travel trailer with a bigger slide out on the side, which will of course add more weight.

I've always wanted a diesel but I'm not sure I want the added expenses or maintenance of one. I've been told that I don't haul often enough or heavy enough to need a diesel. And I've been told that if I want to start hauling bigger trailers but don't want/need a diesel I should get an F150 because they equal to a 2500 Chevy. Thoughts on that? I drive roughly 60 miles a day, going through town often, stopping an going at lights, and I normally am hauling horses almost every weekend for about half an hour at a time.

My question is, what do you guys think would suit me best? Also, what do you think of gas 2500s vs diesel 2500s?

Thanks in advance!

Having a new truck is good, but you have to consider lot of things. You can get vinaudit full report to check its history before buying only $1.

Gas should be good even with your hauling capacity imo. Couple of guys I know dd their 2500 and haul trailer of bikes/quads on weekends.
