Default Cold Starting

I put a new crate motor in a 90 chevy 1500 and when you 1st crank it cold it like a motor with a carb on it , you have to keep patting the gas to keep it running but after it warms up it`s fine. Also put a manuel temp and oil pressure gage on it . Wondering since we left the wires off of those 2 gauges if it`s not telling the computer ( if it has one ) that is cold. Any ideas anyone ?

Default RE: Cold Starting

The coolent temp sensor must be hooked up. This information must go to the ecm to inrich fuel on a cold start.
