Angry CV axle questions (noob here)

O.K. I must first and foremost adfmit that I am new to being a "shade tree mechanic" as my old man would say ( I am 41) but I have pleanty of friends that help me out and I really enjoy the expierience of working on my own truck
So that being said please bear with me.
I own a Silverado 1500 5.3 which has a 3" Lift on it when purchased.
I noticed the CV axles were going bad (boot torn ect...) and am in the process of replacing them only to find with much dismay the outrageous price for ones that work properly with the 3" lift... Almost $600 for both....
Goddamnit
Are these TRULY necessary? Is there ANY WAY I can use regular4 CV Axle's to save $500 (I am poor af)
Somebody please help me out here?
Thank you
Floored over cost in IL

if the cv aren't making noise...clean them out and install boot kits.

I need some help. I am new on here and didnt know where to go. My 1990 chevy k1500 5.7 V8 isnt firing on numbers 3 and 4. I know it has a gas leak and it does drive just fine. It shoots gas out of the left pipe on the exaust. By the way its got dual exhaust on it. My guess is the spark isnt hitting on 3 and 4. The truck has 170,000 miles and is super clean. except for a little rust on the bottom. Any help is a apreciated.

start a new thread in the correct section and list your concern in the title. don't hijack threads.

Yeah they were definitely shot....
Would it be cheaper for present time to just get the regular ones ($50 a piece) as opposed to buying the custom ones ($288 per side) and just replacing them when they go out:?? Hopefully lasting a year or more?
