Default Dealer warranty of repair

Hey everyone, I had a repair done at a Chevy dealer in Nov 2014. The repair was a transfer case replacement on a 2006 Chev Duramax. Repair had a 1 year warranty. 9 months after the repair the transfer case went out and had to be replaced again. The dealer covered it under the warranty but when they did they put in a used transfer case which they told me was from a vehicle with 90,000 miles. Is it common to put in used parts when they do warranty work? It just doesn't seem right to me. Seems like the warranty work should be with new parts like I originally paid for. Any thoughts? Thanks!

seems shady to me. gm parts warranty covers the parts for 1year with new part replacement. were you over the allowable mileage? I'm am not sure what the mileage amount is but there is one.
