Distributer at -1 but misses terrible

Distributer at -1 but misses terrible
What can be wrong? the distributor is at -1 or 0 degrees but it misses horrible. I moved the distributor back and put it at 36 and now it runs better.. all plug wires are in correct spot. has new cam/crank sensors, coil, ICM. any help appreciated
