What is everyone using to track the service you do on your own cars. I do my own work, I am trying to find a product that allows me to keep track of service work. I am trying to avoid apps.

I like to use Oil Change Brain, its not an app but tracks everything for me. You can find them online.

I keep an Excel spreadsheet on my cars. Record the date, miles, what I did, and the cost of parts & materials.

Excel (spread sheet) programs are quite functional, specially when they can add columns or rows of costs !

However, that's a Microsoft Program, and not everyone can use/afford to buy the whole Office enchilada.

Maybe you could use an alternate "Office" program I've found. It's free, and I DO NOT work for this company, or have any vested interests in it.

Just wanted to add...
You might add a Column in your Excel Sheet, where using a single or two letters in it, which would identify the type, component or level of the work done, ie...

E = Engine
C = Cooling System
T = Transmission
D = Dealer Installed
S = Scheduled Maintenance

Like that.

This way, if you wanted to Sort the page to collect/localize information on a given area, it would be very easy !
