This crankshaft is in a pontiac 400 that I have and I plan on putting in my car. The balancing hole is very close to the wall of the crank and I was wondering if it is safe to run this crank in my engine. I'm worried about metal chipping off and throwing off the balance of the crank or getting into other parts of the engine. Any reply would be very helpful thank you

I wouldn't worry about it, after all how many miles has it all ready have on it. I'd clean it up a bit with a file just so I wasn't catching myself on it and move forward.
