Door Post latch jammed

Door Post latch jammed
Anyone ever had this happen?
I can't tell you how many times I've replaced the door latches on this 93 Z34. One time, I adjusted the latch linkage too tight and jammed the door locked. I ended up drilling a hole in the door post and was able to get a screw driver in and disconnect the linkage to the exterior latch. I swore I wouldn't let that happen again.
Guess What? I did it again.. !
Has this ever happened to anyone?
Any easier ideas then what I did before?

No.
Is the door sagging any causing misalignment? There should be a little room for adjustment on the latch or post.
The bushings on the front which connects the door to the car and move when you open/close it - are they still good or are they cracked/dry rotted?

Thank you for responding Sledge. Hinges are good. Had it opening perfectly before I locked it.
The same scenario would be.. if you lock the car door, then try to open the door, you can't unlock it while your still maintaining pressure on the handle to open it.
In this case the linkage being too short is putting some pressure against the lock mechanism and won't allow it to be unlocked.

Thank you for allowing me to post. I was able to get the door open this morning. If anyone ever has this problem, drop me an email, I will explain what I did. Thanks again!
