My 91 Astro back door lock was jammed, I can not open it, and the door handle was broken too!
I attempted to open the interior plastic to release two internal rods of which linked to lock. But I still can not open it.
Any suggestions to open the door?

Since you have access to the rods, make sure they are still connected. They shouldn't be able to flop around. One of the rods needs to be in the up position to unlock the door and the other needs to be pressed down on to unlatch the door.

 

Yes, they were still attched and worked. One to the lock, when I turn the key it moves up and down, and the other connected to the door handle, however, the door handle is broken. When I push it down, I can feel that the door handle was leveraged by this rod.
I did not know that the lock rod and the latch rod should be oppsite to open the door. I will make a test, and get back to you!

THANKS very much! I unlocked the door and open it! It is great, I may be able to find a used door handle to replace the old ones!!

Rear door latch is jammed

 

The back door latch is jammed and I cannot open it . It is a 1991 chev astro van.
