Hello. My name is Marcin and I'm an owner of GMC Savana 1997 2500 5.7 V8.
I bought my van at RepoCast auction in Michigan, it's OK on mechanical side, but body is rusty. I'm doing restoration project, currently I'm cleaning and painting frame and undercarriage.
My question is about my transmission, I have DURAMAX Allison Transmission badge on both sides of my van, but I can't confirm do I realy have this transmission. From what I read in wikipedia in vans from '97 there was no Alisson trans. Anyone know how can I confirm is it really Allison trans?
