97 Chev Caviler. 2.4 liter engine. How much is the maximum oil consumption? The CV air/oil separator seems to be working, however the oil filler cap when off seems to have excessive pressure build up. No blue smoke from exhaust ect.

Under optimal conditions, none.

Assuming no oil is leaking out, how much is it burning?

There's either something wrong with the PCV, or you're burning a LOT of oil.

Usually with a crankcase ventilation problem, you blow out your valve cover gasket and leak oil like a pig. So assuming everything is properly connected,(?) you're just burning a lot of oil.

What's the mileage on this engine?
