Engine smoking.
I have an 88 Chevy C1500 with a 5.7liter v8 2wheel drive. The motor is a aftermarket GM crate motor. When I have the engine running in Idle or if I am in stopped traffic it smoke's like a freight train. I have checked the compression and all cylinder's are at about 150psi. Was wandering if my valve seal's could cause that? I also have a clatter in the top end under load and don't know if I can adjust the rocker's or if they have to be torqued down to spec.My main concern is the smoking though.
The smoke is a blue color, pretty sure it's the oil. Just wasn't sure if the seal's could get that bad, trying to change them now having trouble getting the keeper's out. I have them where they get loose and spread but can't get a hold of them to pull them out.
