Default engine swap

I own a 76 chevy C-10 with a 350 but I want some thing with some more power is there a crate engine that would fit and produce better power.

I do know that a 454 fits but if they aren't from a chevvelle they don't make good power. what should I do.

Default RE: engine swap

a 383 stroker crate or a 454 crate will both make Great Power. it all depends on your fuel money. are you willing to spend half your pay checks on fuel, or do you want a daily driver. If you want a daily driver, buy a 383 stroker and make 340HP and 420TQ or buy a 454 and get Gobs of power and torque but your pay checks or instantly in the toilet.
