Hello every one, first time posting here. I have a 2001 Chevy Cavalier Z24 auto. When I got my license I all but beat the hell out of this car. Sadly I didnt appreciate cars as much as I do now. Needless to say the car is reaching the end of its life. The engine is in decent condition (rebuild wouldnt hurt) but the transmission is toast. Since the car is still in really good shape me and my dad are looking to turn it into a project car.I was just curious what kind of engines/trans can you fit in this model cavalier? I guess the end goal would be some thing that looks good and has around 300HP. (Yeah I know its FWD, doesnt bother us) We would also like to convert it from auto to manual. Could the stock 4cyl in those hit 300HP with out problems. The engine we have has too many miles to mod which is why we would probably swap the engine as well. Thanks a lot.
