Engine-to-Transmission Bellhousing Alignment

Hello All,
I have a problem. I replaced my oil pan but forgot to remove flexplate-to-torque-converter bolts before seperating the engine form the bellhousing and now I can't mate them back together.
I have tried and tried but nothing seems to work. Currently the engine is supported by a Transverse bar, I do not have a hoist.
Do I need to remove the engine and install the TQ first then place the engine back in. Is there another way. Possibly remove bolts and try to install TQ with the little space there is with my finger tips.
Thank,

I'm guessing you've already got it by now but just in case: That torque converter probably weighs about twice what you think it does. It needs to be removed from the engine and installed into the tranny first but not with your finger tips. And make sure it's all the way in before mating the engine to the trans.
