Default flywheel thickness specs

hi all, new to the forum.. need to know if i can turn down my flywheel 1/8".. the flywheel looks like it is 1 3/16" thick.. the problem is that i am using a ram hydraulic throwout bearing and i need to shim the bellhousing to engine 3/8" to get the proper setup gap for the throwout bearing to pressure plate fingers.. i ordered a 1/4" spacer (bellhousing to block) from summit but still need 1/8".. turning down the flywheel by 1/8" will put me where i need to be.

The only thing I see is loosing that 1/8" area on the teeth for the starter. Can't you just adjust it out?

the mating surface to disc is what i want to cut down.. that wouldn't have anything to do with the teeth.. the RAM hydraulic bearing is only adjustable with shims if the gap between bearing and fingers is too great

I ujnderstand, but you are still moving the teeth 1/8 inch away. Otherwise I see no issue with it. If this is an issue, take the bellhousing at the starter input shim 1/8. That would also require altering the mounting holes. Give it a shot. That 1/8 might not be critical.
