I have a 97 chev crew cab dually with the 454 and I ran it out of gas. I put gas in it and it won't start. I turned the key on a few times to prime it but it still won't start. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

 

Can you here the pump run, when you prime it? Can you check fuel pressure? Can you tell if there is air in the lines?

 

i cant hear the pump working...might be my alarm though...it has an aftermarket alarm that disables the fuel pump..i dont have the book on the alarm so i cant tell which buttons or combination of buttons i need to press to reset...

 

You should be able to run the pump from the pump relay, just for testing. There may be a prime connector close to the relay.

If you know who manufactured the theft system, they may have a web site. They might be able to give you some information.

 

is it a diesel?....you will have to bleed the fuel system if it is.
