I have an L96 6.0L v8 in a G series standard passenger express van. I will be replacing the front crankshaft oil seal soon.

The following components will be replaced: serpentine drive belt, a/c compressor stretch belt, harmonic balancer, harmonic balancer bolt, front crankshaft oil seal.


I would like the procedure for INSTALLATION of the harmonic balancer, specifically the bolt.

I will obviously press the balancer into the crankshaft snout, but I have read various procedures and currently don’t have access to alldata to check and verify.


if someone would provide the factory install procedure of the balancer, and bolt (including torque specifications), it would be great appreciated.

 

Have you looked at the shop manual data on charm.li to see if they have the procedure?

 

I haven’t looked there yet. I will give that a try. I usually use alldata or identifix but don’t have access right now.

 

I do not see any harmonic balancer install data on that site.
