? ground wire gets red hot ?

wheni connect the batteryto the engine the ground gets red hot.ant ideas?

u have a direct short in ur cables. make sure positive cable isn't touching the frame or nething. check on the start to make sure it's not touching the bellhousing there.

Or the battery is being hooked up reversed.

Is this the small wire thats going to the body of the car getting hot? If so the big ground wire going to the engine block is not making connection and everything is trying to run off the small wire.

main ground/small ground not in good contact. if they are, look for a hot ground. +cable or alt to batt wire may be grounding. smell any burning wires?
