Harmonic balancer question for 86+ sbc 350
Hello, I'm new to the Chevy world. This is my first engine build and I'm a bit confused with the harmonic balancer I'm building a new 350 from the ground up, got a brand new gm performance block 86+ 1PC rear seal 4 bolt
Rotating assembly has 3.48" scat crankshaft and 5.7" rods, 4.0" wiseco pistons and168 tooth flywheel. I bought ed staffer and David vizard books on how to build sbc engines and parts manuals, and I'm not sure on the size and weight for a proper damper. Books are a bit outdated, also on a budget so the cheapest steel sfi approved damper I found is from summit but size is 6.6 inches and reading on build options the larger and heavier the better so I'm not racing the car is more of a tire burning daily driver with occasional touring. So I dont need a nascar or really high rpm balancer. Just need one that keeps everything smooth on on mid to high range instead of full high range so is the 6.6 ok the zz3 crate engine comes with either 6.75 or 8 inch.
thanks for all your input in advance.
