Default Help identifying SBC!

I recently got a 1979 chevrolet k10 truck that has had several motors in it, and im trying to find out what engine it is! The guy i got the truck from said it was a 350 and came out of a dirt track car, it has an Edelbrock TM1 intake (?), nice aluminum oil pan, nice hedman headers, aftermarket valve covers, and sounds like it has a small cam in it. When looking at the plate behind the alternator, it shows the numbers V0331CLY, and i'm having NO luck finding out what CLY stands for. The casting number on the rear says 3970010, so its a 350, i just wanna know more about it!. Currently it has a quadrajet on it, thats not working right, im guessing thats why it only has the power of a v6. Also something that stumped my dad, the harmonic balance on the motor is very small, not the normal size of a 350. Thanks for the help!

3970010....350...69-80...2 or 4 bolt main. I believe they have a good nickel and tin content. It possibly could be a 327 or 302 but i doubt since 350's are the most common.
