Person I know got a 72 truck and this is on the hood.
Is it suppossed to be there?
A little bit of info would be greatly appreciated.

 

Looks like a Corvette symbol kind of.

 

That's kinda what I thought, Except I've never seen a 'Vette with an onament that stuck up in the air. They all had emblems that stuck to the nose cone like a sticker.
I have searched all over the 'net and only seen one other on e-bay. Even that guy wasn't sure that it was off a 'Vette

 

I agree, I don't recall a hood ornament for a vette, the outer wreath also looks like Cadillac.

 

I thought so at first, but on further inspection, there is a bowtie in the red flag and I don't think caddy would have had a bow tie on it. It is a GM vehicle but not a Chev.

 

Looks a lot like a hood ornament off one of the old Chevelle Malibus...

 

I looked at every chevelle on e-bay and didn't see one like it. This thing is driving me nuts. I've searched every after market supplier and every collectables web site and can't find another one.

 

I looked at 50 pages on an image search and couldn't find it.

I have to sat that after looking at all the old hood ornaments I'm kind of thinking about finding a unique one for the Tahoe.
