Help NO SPARK
I have a 1988 Chevy 1500 4x4 4.3.......ok i cant get it to fire....im getting fuel...i know i have air/compression so ive narrowed it down to the spark....im thinking it is the ignition control module....is there a way i can check this quickly? i have few tools with me right now? any help/ideas would be good!
Those ign. mods' go out all the time, just pull the cap and rotor and be very careful with the wires on the mod itself, just push them back slightly.
Take the 2 1/4" screws out and wiggle out the mod pushing the wires back ever so slightly.(those wires break from old age and heat so be careful)
make sure you put the grease supplied with the mod on the bottom of it, this keeps the mod from overheating and burning out before it's time.
A few tools is all you need a few good screw divers, a 1/4" socket to remove the mod bolts/screws.
