How can I prevent or deter catalytic converter thefts on my 2014 Silverado?

 

Hide under the truck with a shotgun?
Seriously, good question, I have 2-3 cars in my driveway and would like to have some ideas as well.

 

Here in the Houston area the cops are saying to get an electric pencil and write the last 6 numbers of your VIN on it.The other piece of advice they had was paint it with a high heat red or yellow or white color to deter them.I would do both, although if it was painted they might just bypass your vehicle altogether.
