Default Job diagram - Changing oil pump

Anyone have a job diagram for changing the oil pump in a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 4WD 5.3L V8?

Looking for an illustration.

Oil Pan Replacement

Removal Procedure



  1. Remove the oil level indicator tube.
  2. Raise the vehicle.
  3. Remove the engine oil and the engine oil filter.
  4. Remove the oil filter adapter.
  5. Remove the starter.
  6. Remove the engine mount through bolts.
  7. Remove the oil pan.
  8. Note the location of any studs to assist reassembly.
  9. Remove the engine oil pan and the oil pan gasket.
  10. Clean all the sealing surfaces.

Oil Pump, Screen, and Crankshaft Oil Deflector Replacement

Removal Procedure



  1. Remove the engine oil pan.
  2. Remove the oil pump.
  3. A loose oil pump screen or pipe assembly can result in an air leak and loss of oil pressure.
  4. If the tube is loose in the oil pump body replace the oil pump screen.
Installation Procedure



  1. Important: Install a NEW oil pump driveshaft retainer.
  2. Install the oil pump and the crankshaft oil deflector.
  3. Install the engine oil pan.

can the oil pan in a 2004 silverado 1500 5.3L be removed and clear frame?
