Default Keyless entry question.

Hi i'm an owner of a used 2005 Chevy Cobalt and it didn't come with his Keyless remote so i ordered one online and i received it yesterday but i need some help with the programming. If anyone knows how its done it would be greatly appreciated.

i'm pretty sure u have to do that with the Tech2 scanner.

I used to work at a Chrysler Dealership and programming the key fobs had to be done with the scanner or a computer unless you already had a working fob and just wanted to program a second one. But chevys might be different. Thats what I know.

Unless you have a buddy that works at GM, they'll most likely charge you .5 to connect the Tech II and spend less than a minute to program the key fob. If you go, make sure you take any other fobs you may have, as they all need to be programmed. Anything up to about 2006 or 2007 needs the Tech II. Many new vehicles that are newer than 06 can be programmed through the driver information center by the owner.
