lights keep flashing after locking with keyless??

lights keep flashing after locking with keyless??
Hey all, new to the forum.
I have an '02 Impala LS, and for some reason when I lock the car with the keyless remote... the headlights and taillights keep flashing for 3 or 4 minutes. It does this with both remotes, so its not an issue with the keypads themselves.
Can anyone please explain what might be happening??
