Well, I've got an 87 Celebrity, 92k miles.

The tilt assembly is loose from WITHIN the column its self, I already removed the panel under the dash to check the mounts, they are tight.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to fixing this myself? I do have mechanical experience, I've just never seen this before, at least not in my life time. (I'm only 19)

Anywho, anyone got any kind of tutorial with pictures or anything?

The carrier bearings are bad. Get a new steering column

 

not exactly the carrier bearings i had the same problem with an 88 s10 blazer and inside the steering column under ur clock spring r 2 or 3 torx bolts that sometimes work loose and cause ur steering column to feel loose i have seen this problem on 3 other gm columns also

 

is there any kind of picutre tutorial to follow to repair this? I have yet to find a service manual for this model too.

Anyone that can help me, please do?
