Making Smokey Ram work
anyone out there have anything to do with the Smokey Ram intake manifold, I know that it has a few issues with proper flow and there were a few tricks in the past to make them work such as installing a couple of air dams at bottom entrance .
Back in the 70's I built a 327 for one of my customers that we installed into a 59 Morris Minor Show Car with a Turbo 400 trans , and this thing hauled *** with the stock untouched Smokey Ram . There are no definitive answers anywhere that I've seen , only a lot of speculation . I've heard that there was some so called secret data back in the 70.s re
n welding a couple of dams on flat part of the bottom plenum . I've built a roller cammed 434 Cu In small block and using a FAST throttle body FI setup.. In my guesstimate I was thinking that it should work better than a carb because of better fuel atomization , Any ideas ?
