did i just get taken for $500 geting it replaced or could it have bin cleand the code was po101

hey chuck 49...azdesertdweller here...it's been my expierence that unless physically damaged,they rarely go bad...remove the M.A.F. unit spray brake cleaner on the 3 wires on the inside,q-tip e'm...bright light inspection,to insure cleanliness...thats it..
