Default Motor swap

Motor swap. Will a 2006 5.3 interchange with a 2007 5.3? My 2007 Yukon was diagnosed with bad rings and I found an 06 motor but not sure if it will work

just to be safe better check if both motors are same gen , should both be gen 4 but better be safe than sorry bc putting a gen 3 .motor in a gen 4 truck is alot more than just a motor swap. Gen 4 in a gen 3 not a huge deal with a lingfelder box tho. Check for cam sensor on front of timing cover , if both have one ur good, also check color of crank sensor (near starter), think grey is the 58x and ur good if they they same, if one is black and one is grey not good bc one is gen 3 24x and other 58x gen 4.

Not really, same as a gen 3 just a bit different wiring harness, knock sensors on the side vs in valley. I finally got around to pulling my lq4 and starting to build it to go in my 09, extra work changing reluctor wheel, drilling And tapping new knock sensor bolt holes , bungs are already there just need threads, and it's getting a new cam so the 4x gear gets put on same time. Not too hard, just gotta do ur research BEFORE you get into it that's all.
