My new Impala goes crazy
Hello everyone, I have just registered here to be able to talk about my car, hoping to hear some helpful tips.
Four months ago I traded my 2012 Honda Civic that had no issues what so ever until very recently, for a brand new 2016 Chevy Impala, a $40 000... After all the documents were signed, and I left the dealership, my GPS quit working within first hour driving. So the very next day the nearby dealership took care of it, ordering and installing a new system - fixed.
In about a week enjoying my new car, I was driving when the front passenger window dropped down opened, not completely, but about couple of inches, I swear I did not touch anything to make it happen. In another week, I parked my car fully locked, windows rolled up, as supposed, on a public parking for one hour, and I found my car with same front passenger window completely rolled down. I stopped at the dealership describing what happened to the windows, the answer was they never heard anything like that and - they did not want to take the door apart because " They did not want to make it all worse".
Then shortly after that, the right speaker started making noises, so the dealership took care of that replacing the speaker - fixed.
Then out of blue, the horror of interior rattling started all of a sudden. Started from the driver side door, gradually spreading everywhere. I could drive all day long with no rattling and next day the rattling would be so loud it drove me crazy (( Took to the mechanic at the same local dealership, left the car, in a couple of days received the call from them that they drove everywhere and did not detect any rattling... I picked it up and made a video next time rattling was there, and it was SO loud, that the mechanic agreed to take front panel off and re-glue it - the area we took the video, but ignored all four doors... so it is rattling everywhere again.
Then one day, in about three months driving, I turned car on and heard some pretty loud whistling coming from under the hood, called the dealer right away, but was not able to make it there until next day, so whistling lasted for about 6 hours my driving that day, it was also there when I took them to the mechanics, and I also made video on my cell phone and showed them, but they said they could not detect any whistling..... It did not happen again.
The air filter on the right side makes a strange noise, the mechanic listened to it and said it was normal, however, the noise goes on and off, and I can tell when it's there, and it does not sound normal? But I can't argue with them, obviously. OK, it's normal.
The back up camera stopped working for a day, with the written note on the screen "Back camera needs service". I took the picture of that, just in case, and of course that went away and everything is working again.
In about two months of my driving, a cruise control stopped working, first it dropped speed on highway once, and in about 30 minutes second time. The next day it took me few attempts to activate it, it just would not go on. I was on my usual 45mph route, not low speed one, as the mechanic suggested, he did not address this issue, and it did not happen again. I am just wondering - when will be the next time? and what if the cruise control will stop working when I need to slow down?? At this point I found myself not trusting this car, funny feeling, but that is how I feel getting in to my car every day.
Today, this last night, the same passenger front window rolled down on it's own. The key was hanging on the hook. I was sleeping. My neighbor knocked at the door at 7am saying, your car window is down! It was lots of water on the seat and the panel, and I got so frustrated and upset, like nothing else, I just don;t know what to do with this car. I was hoping to enjoy the luxury drive, instead, I regret everyday I got this beautiful and comfortable otherwise vehicle. I work hard to make my $399/ mo payment. I had 4 cars before this one, I never ever ever had such ... well.. junk. I usually drive a vehicle for 5 years and then trade it in before problems start, but with this one, I am not sure it will even last for so long.
Any suggestions, please?
Thank you so much in advance, and I apologize for the long vent

I can think of 2 possible causes for your window. The first being a mechanical failure. This can be checked by putting the window at different heights and gently pulling down on the glass. gently and seeing if you can make it come down on its own. If the glass is firm in its positions all the way up and down and you are sure there are no mechanical faults, then the next logical step is to replace the PDM. the Passenger Door Module is what has the 2 relays that control the window. but they are small and soldered to the board. you likely have partially bridged contacts on one of these relays. It is unfortunate, but it does happen. Make sure the window is not falling free from the regulator and then demand the replacement of your PDM and re assess your backup camera and other issues.
