Navigation system help: Desperate!!
I am hoping that one of the sharp techs can help. I havea 2009 Silverado. The preious owner had his dealer install a Nav system. He had the bose system from the factory. I think they pulled the Nav from a Tahoe. Radio works fine. Nav seems to be alright. BUT: The tech had to program it as a Hybrid ( or it was from a Hybrid?) The door chimes and turn signal chimes do not work and the bluetooth does not work. AS well their is no clock display. I have been told that a GM tech can put the truck on the tech 2 and get it to work. I have had it to 2 dealers and still nothing. The techs call the GM techline and of course they will not help. I am willing to PAY fo the solution to this problem. HELP please!!

There are people on here a lot more qualifyed the me to answer this--but heres my best guess
It could one of two things that I can think of.
1- the tech that installed the nav unit left the two wires that go from the onsatr box to the nav unit off. you need thes two wires for the voice recognition to work. pin 2 on onstar module goes to pin 4 on radio harness, & pin 4 on onstar goes to pin 5 on radio harness.
or
2- he might be addressing the system wrong. for the bluetooth to work with the nav unit you have to say "onstar", it says "onstar ready", then you say "bluetooth" it says "bluetooth ready"
