Default Need Help BBC Cam

What I know: BBC 402, Oval port 454 heads, CompCam 1.7 Roller Rockers.

- Choppy idle

- Seems to run best at 14-16 degrees initial timing

- 6.5 inches of vacuum at idle

No cam specs came with the car when I bought it (1970 Nova). Lots of quality parts on this car.

Whoever built it didn't go cheap.

I'm guessing it's a Comp Cam b/c of the rockers. Called Comp Cams and they say the part number

is on the back of the camshaft, so I can't simply remove the timing chain and see the number.

I'm about to convert it from a 750 Holley to Edelbrock EFI and the setup for the EFI asks for a cam

duration range. Mild: 210 - 230 degrees or Race: 230 - Greater

Questions ? Comments ?

What do ya'll think ?

If you really need the info you can use a degree wheel and indicator to measure the cam events and lift.
