Default Need help with engine identification

I just picked up a 1986 chevy pickup 4x4 for plowing snow. The owner said it has a 350 engine in it. Well I checked the vin it states that it is a 305 engine. I copied these numbers off of the pad on the block in front of the right front head. K0828UFC CG1104811. It has no smog tubing or pump, it looks like an early 283 or a 305. Can anyone help?

Be easier to get the 8 digit block casting number. Any more info? Is it a four-wheel drive (I suppose so if you are plowing). It's likely a 305 C-I motor, but as of now, no way to tell for certain unless we get some better I.D. numbers. Whats this motor have for fuel intake: 4 barrel or two barrel carburetor?

In my experiences the 350 cubic inch motor is much better in power and around the same MPG's compared to the 305 cubic inch motor too.

350: 210 HP/300 F-P Torque
305 170 HP/240 F-P Torque

So roughly 40 HP and 60 F-P Torque difference between the 305 and the 350 GM V8 engines.

It's very hard to see the numbers, too much stuff in the way, but I will keep trying.

OK, still trying to get to the casting number. The engine has a 4 bbl carb with no smog holes drilled in the head. The truck is a 4 x 4, the owner said it only has 37,000 miles on the engine. I have repaired and rebuilt many, many chevy engines but this one has a different type of air filter on it. I thought that if I could find out what engine used this filter I would find what cu in it was. It has a metal air filter in the air cleaner that is glued to the air cleaner. The regular air filter sets on the outside of the metal filter but inside the air cleaner body. The air cleaner looks normal until you remove the cover. Please note that most engines that I have rebuilt were brought to me in the back of a pickup with no air filter on them. And that was 20+ years ago.
I tried to look up different air filters on line but I could not find one like this. I will try to get a picture of it today.
